Herald privacy policy
Herald is operated by Translatent. This policy covers public browsing and existing households’ private features on the web and in the iOS app.
Public browsing
No account is required. Saved events and browsing preferences are stored on your device, without uploading them to a household account. Removing browser storage or app data clears these local preferences. Herald does not sell personal information or track you across other companies’ apps and websites.
Family features
Provisioned family members sign in using a link sent to their configured iMessage contact. The private service stores account names and contact details, session credentials, household members, home location and address, children’s birth years, preferences, event reactions, saved searches, share notes and calendar information used for family planning. This information is associated with the household and is not included in the public event dataset.
Private recommendations and calendar matching use AI services, including OpenAI, to process relevant planning text and preferences. Location lookup services process addresses used to find nearby activities.
App reviewers use a separate fictional household. Its accounts, data and sessions are isolated from the real family household.
Operating the service
Hosting providers process IP addresses and request information to deliver the service. Herald records technical errors and crash diagnostics using Translatent’s error reporting service. Source websites receive ordinary request information when you open their links or load their images. Those websites have their own privacy policies.
Your choices & contact
You can browse without signing in, clear local saved events, and sign out of family access. Contact Translatent to request access to, correction of, or deletion of stored family information, or ask a privacy question. Private household data remains in the household service until it is cleared; public listing history contains event information rather than family records.
